This shop is remarkable. It is full of guitars ,drums and every other musical instrument. The staff are incredibly friendly ,knowledgeable and helpful. This is the very kind of business worth supporting and which offers so much more than the internet alone can ever do. Anyone visiting for the first time is assured of a great experience.

A friendly welcome and lots of great advice. For musical instruments and kit, it's so much better to buy in-store and enjoy the personal touch and useful tips. You miss a lot by buying everything online! Got a great children's guitar, and got my old guitar and tuned up and serviced, and they have lots of nifty accessories and music books too. Be sure to drop in!

Excellent staff service and expertise! I had my MusicMan set up here and they did not just properly set it up but also turned it from a clumsy instrument to a soft smooth instrument that made string bending on point. No buzzes, brilliantly perfect low action set up. I usually ask them for their product recommendations because you could not go wrong with their expertise as they can explain their service and products well. Will definitely have my other guitars set up here.

Really great service got all the parts I needed to fix up my old guitar at a fraction of the price from amazon (amazon parts didn't even fit and were damaged despite being new), very happy to be using spares rather than new, great to reuse and recycle, better value, better parts, and some solid advice for a newbie like me to boot, wish I had thought of them first. Shop local, folks.

Popped in to have a look at their Ukulele range as my son was in need of a decent one as he had chosen music as part of his GCSES, spoke to a really helpful man in the shop who was really knowledgeable, and advised on the various sizes and suitability.
No hard sales, honestly I would have picked one up there and then but was pushed for time, sadly my son decided he is now going to do music tech so a instrument is not needed after all.
The Ukuleles on display were beautiful, I may learn myself!

I went in once and didn’t buy anything but the owner gave me advice about my first guitar and helped me decide what kind to get! It’s a really friendly shop and unlike other music stores it didn’t feel like it was wrong to ask about stuff. I really enjoyed the range of items, it didn’t feel like I was walking into a hard core guitar shop or violin shop that has a couple of keyboards. Definitely would recommend!

Over the years I've bought lots of kit from Soundhouse, I visited them in St Aldate street for the first time since their re-location from Westgate Street.
Sadly the Guy behind the counter was dis-engaged and glued to his laptop. I had money to spend on either a guitar or valve amp but I walked away and looked online due to simply the lack of engagement from the owner. Nice kit on display but zero engagement .
