I have been learning to drum with Marcus, Gemma and Anne for a few months now and it's been a fantastic experience. They originally offered lessons at their studio in Rendlesham pre Covid but are now offering lessons via Zoom several times a week.
These lessons continue to be an absolute joy 😊

They are so friendly and welcoming and you do feel part of a drumming family.
A video is sent each week as part of the learning experience, so you can replay the techniques at your leisure.

I have purchased a drum from them via click and collect too and it is of exceptional quality and a joy to play with its rich and mellow sound.

I just love Wooden Roots. They make the best drums ever. I bought a custom made Djembe from them and Marcus spent so much time making sure it was right for me .. I swear it plays itself and it has made my confidence soar. When an West African drum teacher says .”.wow that sounds good” you know you’ve bought something special ! But Wooden Roots isn’t just about drums .. they are about building a musical community and until Covid they were always running different events to bring people together
So now we have Zoom and Marcus and Gemma and Ann and Chewy ( the cool Wooden Roots dog!) are keeping us sane and drumming through this totally insane time. Classes 3 times a week and an annotated video of each class afterwards woods means we are all having fun and still learning . Thanks guys 😘😘

I live in Vancouver WA and was made aware of wooden roots via the web. Checked the site. Saw some beautiful drums. Contacted Marcus. Told him the drums I was interested in. He demoed them via email. I chose the ONE. It's the most incredible drum and it replicates the sound I heard in my head that I wanted to hear. The bag was amazing,too. Great customer service and impeccable product. We started this business in Los Angeles from our dining room table and we have consistently grown it to what it is today. Gemma and Marcus are amazing they really can’t help you enough to ensure the purchase is right for you. No pressure and lots of patience, going through the smallest details to guide you with their vast knowledge. I was totally confused initially as there is so much available on the market and also a lot of rubbish around, so I was concerned about making the right choices . Together they methodical helped me to choose the right drum for me . It arrived quickly even with alterations that I had requested and I absolutely love it 😍.

Wow.... my drum is phenomenal!! Thank you guys so much. I haven't even properly let loose on it yet as don't want to disturb the neighbours, and I can't take it out anywhere yet cause I'm on crutches, but I just got a good quiet session in and maaaan it is beautiful. Even when playing softly the differentiation between slaps and tones is so clear. Thank you again and for the super speed delivery, it arrived at 9am this morning!

It's made me much more excited to get drumming in the community again! Need to toughen my hands up in preparation!
