Gamlins Music Centre

Delivery of my Casio GP-300 recently was fantastic - there was a fault with the product and Gamlins handled it extremely quickly and efficiently. The new piano was delivered only a week later, and installed very quickly. Phil was especially helpful when choosing the piano, and gave lots of advice on the different makes and models available. Highly recommend this shop. Its so nice to have a proper independent, local music shop so nearby. Last year after chatting to the very knowledgeable Matt in the guitar dept on several occasions i took my strat in for a service. It was returned to me in a week feeling absolutely brilliant with a perfect action. Matt had even cleaned up some of the wiring that a previous owner had messed around with and when i got it back it was better than ever.

Not one to do this normally, but yesterday's experience was so bad that I feel compelled to leave a (scathing) review. The attitude of the staff in this store stinks. The guitar guy in particular is extremely rude - spent most of the time telling me why the product in question wasn't suited to me in a dismissive manner, instead of trying to actually 'sell' me the product. By the time the product in question was set up, I was on the verge of walking out - the guy's attitude was such that I totally lost my enthusiasm for the product. I'm all for supporting independent businesses, but seriously, go to PMT 4 doors down - much better service.

Nothing but frustrating experiences here. Staff are extremely miserable, especially the older lady. Took a saxophone to be repaired and heard nothing from them for over a week so I decided to phone them, where they informed me it was "probably still in repair". Went in the next day only to be told it was ready??? Like what the hell guys??? When were you guys planning on telling me??? To top it all off, I was given the wrong address when I decided to go and pick it up from the repair man myself.

Truly a shame, because they have good stock usually. 2 stars, but if it wasn't for the stock an easy 1 star.

Walked in with the intention of buying a Fender bass guitar.
I had previously bought many guitars and amps from this store.
I went to use the toilet when an elderly lady told me that I could not use the facilities. I said OK and took my money to PMT who looked after me brilliantly ( and they let me use their toilet) !!!
One Fender bass later I was extremely happy with the service I received from PMT.

Fantastic customer service and kind staff set up my piano into the room and even test it making sure everything is ok before they leave. I am so satisfied with my purchase and strongly recommend people to purchase from kind and supportive music shop in the future. I definitely come back in the near future. Thank you so much!
