Not only are they all far from straight, I asked for almond shaped nails. I tried asking questions and did say I am not sure about how all this is done because I never had my nails done.the lady would only nod or just start doing things. Not once did she let me have a look and asked if this is the way I want it.

I have used this salon a few times now and I have nothing to complain about. My nails always last atleast 5 weeks. I have hand painted designs and every time without fail they turn out exactly like the picture I have shown them.

Staff are all really friendly, especially the owners daughter. She is so polite and efficient for such a young age. Lovely atmosphere.

Thank you xxx

Even though I booked an appointment, when I got to the shop there was only 2 people working and they were attempting to do 3 people’s nails between them at the same time. So they had overbooked. I had booked for a gel pedicure and gel manicure, both were less than basic, no cuticle work at all, no shaping. The technicians were flitting between myself and 3 other customers so no-one received adequate care or attention to detail. They just wanted everyone done quickly, cash taken and out the door as soon as possible. Also, feels like they were just making up prices at the end, charged more because I had more than 1 colour varnish. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.

EDIT: I do have the correct shop I’m afraid, appointment was last week, made over the phone.
Also, gels have not even lasted a week - already cracking. There really wasn’t enough attention to detail. Too many customers at once.

I have had acrylic nails for over 10 years and been to a number of salons during this time. I have tried a few of the nail salons in Maidstone and found Hollywood nails a few years ago and in my opinion they are as good as any top salon. Clean, professional and very friendly.

Reading over some of the reviews, I noticed one from 3 weeks ago of which by chance I was also a client that day. Situations are not always as true as first made out.

Most nail shops I have been to are Cash only and the sign on the wall as you walk in is a big giveaway.

I do not believe it is unreasonable to leave a mobile phone behind when you have already had services provided and want to leave the shop to go to a cashpoint. Especially when you don't have any money on you to pay for the treatments.

These shops need to make a living and try to continue, post covid lockdown. Too many people take advantage of situations and do not pay for their treatments, which I have witnessed too.

I recommend this salon to everyone, even those unsure on finding a good salon in the local area.

I would highly recommend Hollywood Nails & Beauty. The salon is clean and well looked after. You are made to feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. I have been using them for around 2 years now and wouldnt go anywhere else. Super friendly people, professional and the best results every time!

These nails were done on the 9th of October which is 6 days ago now and they still look great!

I used them as my bridal nails at my wedding and they are beautiful, I love them so much and I don't normally get my nails done but these are great and I haven't chipped them or anything which I'm surprised because I'm quite clumsy!

Thank you so much to the gentlemen who did these nails it was so nice of you to do them for me even though you had to stay behind after your normal closing time which was greatly appreciated 😊

I cannot recommend Hollywood nails enough! I always always go here and have never once had an issue! I always get what I ask for and sometimes more! They always have fab ideas if you are unsure on what you are after.
The salon itself is very clean and professional and they are following all guidelines during the pandemic.

Always in love with my nails when i leave!

I am not entirely sure where all these good reviews come from but I have visited this nail salon on 3 separate occasions and have not had a good experience. All three visits I booked an appointment and ended up waiting at least 30 mins before I was seen. Also they tend to start your nails and another clients and end up doing 2 peoples nails at the same time. I did not find any of my visits relaxing as they rushed through the whole process. Please rest assured I waited to write this review as I wanted to be fair and visit 3 times before reviewing. The first time I visited in the morning and asked for full set acrylics. It was ok but they did not push back or get rid of my cuticles and the finish was not great. Despite the price list being £25 on the wall they charged me £35. I asked why and they said for the polish. So it’s £10 extra for the nail polish which is very expensive and misleading. Please also be aware they only take cash.

The second time I visited I got a full set as well as a pedicure. They used cold water on my feet which I told them and they muttered something under their breathe and then carried on. It was 20 mins long and they charge me £35 for another sub par service. I didn’t complain as thought maybe they were too busy so I thought next time will be better.

The last time( 3rd visit) I visited I waited 20 mins past my appointment time as they took in so many walk ins I had to to wait by the door. They were doing 2 clients nails at a time. I wanted to leave but they told me it won’t be long so I waited. I asked for a full set powder dip as I didn’t want acrylics. The man said yes and then started my nails mid way through another clients visit. He then started adding tips and I reminded him that it was dip powder. He said yes. Then as soon as he finished he proceeded to add acrylics. I said no I asked powder dip ( I’ve been getting my nails done since 20 years old, I’m 35 now. I know what the difference is) he told me yes this is powder. I said no it’s not it’s acrylics. He then said oh sorry he’s started now so can’t take it off. I let him do it as frankly I was so angry I just let him do it. He rushed through my nails. Left the nails thick as he didn’t file them down long enough and cuticles not done again. I asked for gel polish which he charged me £35.

In my opinion they definitely are not the best salon I’ve been to or worthy of 5 stars. It’s not a relaxing service and they have very poor customer service. I wouldn’t go back there ever again.

Edit: in response to the owner below. I mean no disrespect to anyone working there. I am more than happy to pay the price advertised for my nails which I did. I am not complaining about the price - I am not happy with the outcome of my nails. In other nail salons cuticle work is done as a standard as it’s part of the nail. Reading through some of the other reviews I see I am not the only one with the same complaints. I’ve never had my nails done and not had the cuticles done too. Anyway this is just my opinion, other people may have received better service. I however didn’t. Thank you. :)
