I took my daughter to do acrylic nails for her birthday, the lady was so upset from the start from us. My daughter wanted to do nail polish that goes lighter at the top but the lady refused and kept arguing about it and then she said she can’t do it although they are posting something like it on their Facebook page. Anyway we weren’t sure about which colour to go for and the lady was so annoyed about that. When I went to pay they told me the machine is not working and I told them why you didn’t say that from the start but the lady and the guy there told me to go and get cash. It is a very bad experience I won’t be going there again.
The staff are really nice and very helpful and very good at doing nails I always come out happy with my nails and the service they provide, have been going to them for a while and will always continue to. Lovely nail shop lovely people.
So to come to my review and my experience at JJ Nails. Before we visited this establishment, myself and my sisters researched the nail salons in the Bromley area as neither of us were familiar with the salons and relied heavily on the Google reviews. The reviews are deceiving and I would suggest paying close attention to the negative reviews they have. Anyway, we chose JJ Nails.
Prior to the technicians starting our nails, we sat down and had a look through the colours they had to offer. Their selection at this point felt promising and we chose the colours and were quickly seated for them to start. As we sat down, we were told we had to go to the wall and pick the colours ourselves. This to me was odd as I've never had to do this before. It took a good 5 minutes for me to find the colours I had chosen as they were not in numerical order and different varnish brands were mixed together. My sister chose to have 5 colours and almost every colour she wanted was not available. When we asked the staff if they had them, we were told "no". If you do not have the colours, don't advertise like you do.
The technician started shaping out nails (the only thing they had asked us as this point was what shape we wanted). I was luckier than my sisters as my cuticles were attended to properly. But here comes the part that really frustrated me and caused me to write this review. After the nails were shaped etc, I was asked what design I wanted, when I showed a photo of what I wanted (nothing overly special, just coloured french tips), I was told it would be an extra £10.00. £10.00 for what? For you to use less polish? There was no way I was going to pay an extra £10.00 for that when I have never ever paid that price for that design. I told them to forget abut the french design and just go with plain colour on each nail. When the tech was finished, I was told to go and sit in the other side of the room to dry my nails. No indication of how long I should sit under the drier, I just had to guess.
I was relieved for it to be over because I was growing tired of having the back of my hand smacked every time I moved an inch.
I have used so many nail salons so I like to think I know what is a good salon and what isn't. This isn't a good salon and I would not recommend either. i am looking forward to the reply which will most likely be a pack of lies like the response to my sisters was.
Thanks guys!
