It's a great part of History, when England was a battlefield for Lords, Nobles and They soldiers. Ambion Wood are woodlands in the strategic position before the battle for Bosworth. Perhaps here forces are hidden and waiting before crucial march into the battle. Well marked paths and way through Ashby Canal for outstanding and magnificent Trail, full of colourful emotions in fantastic story. God save the King !!!

Ambion Wood is a privately owned woodland with public footpaths running through the wood and is also part of the Bosworth Battle Heritage Trail. You can easily reach the wood from Sutton Wharf by walking past the cafe following the path which leads into the wood to enjoy the views. It is possible to walk through the wood, pass the site of the battlefield, cross over the canal using the bridge and return to Sutton Wharf on the footpath on the other side of the canal to create a short 2 mile circular walk. Lovely historical walk with a cafe and toilets as well. Parking at Sutton Wharf was £2.50 for 24 hours, in July 2021.

Not many paths to spend time in the wooded area. It's just a cut through.
