Beautiful, interesting easy access walks the grounds. Great cafè with a wide selection of meals and snacks at reasonable prices. Ashwell Estate is a great place to visit no matter what the weather or season

This was the highlight of a late winter / early spring walk through the majestic Chilterns. Unfortunately closed for business and access on this particular Sunday, though a great and intact 360’ view of such a period piece of natural woodland architecture. Best kept secret in the Chilterns!

What a beautiful surprise on a great walk. It needs looking after as very run down.

Was very surprised to see a log cabin on our walk near Ashridge Estate, cabin looks very run down but is set in such a beautiful setting. It would be great to see it renovated into something that can contribute towards The National Trust!

35 years ago, when I was Scout in Hertfordshire, we had access to the log cabin and used to sleep in it after orienteering sessions in the beautiful Ashridge woods

Beautiful walk through the ancient woodland from the Ivanghoe Beacon car park to Ashridge car park takes about 1 hour and pases by the log cabin. The trees turn beautiful colours in thd Autumn and as soon as you get of the main path, the woodland becomes the place you can get lost in. It is massive! There is a cafe at the Ashridge car park and couple of mobile icecream and coffee vans. Loved the walk and the autumn colours 😍

Would be amazing if it could be turned into something useable rather than just derelict. Very pretty all the same.

This is an abandoned cabin in Ashridge Forest, you can only walk round the outside. The vistor centre, a 15 - 20 minute walk away has a cafe where you can get food and drinks, plus a shop/information point - not sure I'd call the prices "rrasonable" but I guess it depends on how deep your pockets are!
