Lovely tree lined canal walk. I recommend walking across the lovely 1889 decorative bridge to find lovely spacious picnic areas for playing and lazing by the river.

Ideal for gentle short walks on well maintained paths. Large open grassed areas. Bring some food to feed the ducks and swans. Free parking on site.

A lovely woodland walk by the river trent, lots of wildlife to see and useful information about the trees you see en route. A good sized play area for children. Lots of swans, ducks and geese for adults and children to feed (no bread), grape halves, cooked rice and bird food only as bread causes problems to the waterways. Definitely worth a visit.

I really like this place. We followed the sat-nav and it took us to the car park near a picnic area. The car park is free which is a bonus. This is a bit away from the pubs which are further up the river. Near this picnic area there's a big field so if you've come with doggies it's perfect to let them lose for some zoomies. The river is very near though so please be mindful, it's very deep and fast at places so if you have doggies who are water mad just be careful where you let them off the lead. We walked down the river and there are few banks where the doggies can dip in their paws. The pathway however is very near a busy road so again keep your doggies on the lead just in case. We will go back and walk the other way up the river and check out this place fully so might amend this review.

Proper wide paths suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooter and pushchairs. Lots of space for children to play. A very pleasant walk along the river and beautiful trees. We'll kept and surprisingly not much litter
