Smestow Valley Nature Park

Fantastic area. Really well maintained. Great for walks/runs or lounging by the canal. Railway walk, meadows and canal. Lovely all year round and spectacular in June/July time when the poppies are in bloom

A breath of fresh air on the edge of a city. Adjacent to the canal this area teems with wildlife and is the perfect location to relax and unwind.

Beautiful place to walk your dog. They have done a lot of work on it recently too, so it's more passable during wet weather.

Great place for walking, running or cycling. It's fairly straight and level as it's along a former railway line, but some places and accesses may not be suitable for wheelchair users.

Quiet place with a variety of wildlife and a network of paths, and two small ponds. Easy access from the road or canal. More information boards would be good.

Love having this right on the door step.

This is on my doorstep. Walk from Compton to wombourne down the old track visiting the old rangers stations which are now cafes , or simply explore the Wolverhampton environment centre. Multiple nature walks. Dog enclose at the w.e.c and nature ponds. Slip off the walk into the canal and travel down to bratch lock. Wonderful walks and nature.

What a gem. I'm only staying in the area temporarily but have found myself there most mornings or evenings. Leads onto the canal system too which was another welcome surprise. Hopefully, this will not be sold off for development purposes...
