Great place to walk with your dog

Contrary to other reviews this is is not a good place for a dog walk. It's in the middle of no where and there's not really anywhere to park. There was no one else around so felt in the middle of no where. The woodland is all on a steep hill which is muddy and the steps are slippery.

Although this is a nice public open space if you are a local for a quick walk, I wasn't so impressed with the woodland walks from this site. The only decent view of the mill pond is from the road really and not the footpath. The lower path on the opposite side of the stream from the lower meadow is pleasant enough but it turns up the hill to return back to the meadow before you get any good views of the mill pond. The higher returning path is on a slope, narrow, uneven and the return to the bottom of the slope at the end is pretty much just an open slope. Not suitable if you aren't steady on your feet. The carpet of bluebells along the top path was very pretty though. The last section of the path, returning to the bridge at the lower level, to get back to the lower meadow is a bit of an obstacle course ducking under fallen trees. In anything but the best weather, the last hop, skip and jump to the bridge is going to get you muddy feet at best.
I took the second walk from the lower to the upper meadow. Maybe I should have taken a bit more time to explore but it seems just to be an open mowed field bordered by trees and hedges. Again, a nice spot to walk a dog or lay in the sun maybe on a nice day. Despite the comment you may find in one of the websites about this location, I couldn’t find a view of the pond from the upper meadow.
