I love Bowyer's Water and am very lucky to have it on my doorstep. The surrounding lakes and wetlands are also great and together, attract a lot of wildlife. You can go for a lunchtime walk and regularly see deer as well as all the waterfowl (Little Egrets seem to be well established now). In the winter, if you are lucky, you could see Smew, Bittern and even Cattle Egret.

Part of the stunning Lea Valley Park. You could spend all day at this stunning inland waterways location. It's a bird watching paradise. Toilets at Fisher's Green are clean and the Lea Valley White Water Centre is always exciting and has a cafe.

I Enjoy Lee Valley and its many trails on foot, but in 2 wheels you will see so much more, the perfect place for a sunday cycle.

Lovely walks around the lake with concrete paths for easy cycling and walking even in wet winter months. It is great to have this place locally and I have spent a lot of time walking here. Wooden pontoons for feeding the ducks. Signs around to indicate routes around the park. No swimming signs on the pontoons but unfortunately that does not stop silly youths from going in the water. Just yesterday there were boys in the water not realising how dangerous it can be. Walk to the white water centre at Waltham abbey through the park is much quicker than getting there by road. Lots of birdsong and there are goats in an area of the park grazing on the lush grass. Deer can also be seen and rabbits bounding through the grasses. Watch out for all the nettles though.
