I walked the kids 4,5 & 14 scooted and biked there from Great Shelford. Had a walk around. A little snack. Weather was present that day. As the day before we tries and had to run all the way home because it started to rain. The pathways are reasonably clear for small children.

A small nature reserve near Addenbrookes. I love this place where the springs arise where the chalk meets the clay. It's lovely to find some trees here where all around is being developed so fast. Dogs can be walked off lead. Lovely place for kids to play. An oasis of quiet. Access from a path off Granhams Rd or by bike near the DNA path.

Beautiful spot and nature reserve for an afternoon walk. Great to see the Cristal clear water of the spring that feeds Hobson's conduit. Lovely bit of historical content to find out about and great wildlife to observe.

Great little destination, source of Hobson's Brooke. This nature reserve's well cared for, but not overly so still giving a sense of wild ramble. Count the sources bubbling from the river bed and enjoy time investigating the memorial did at one end.
Today, half term in February, some adventurous tooth were enjoying their first pale off the season.

This was a great find. We walked here whilst staying at the camping and caravanning club site at Great Shelford (Cambridge). It was easy to find and the walk was very easy with only the road bridge over the main railway line offering any difficulty.
The site itself was wooded with well marked pathways and suitable bridges and signage so as to direct and inform the visitors.
A very interesting location and worth the visit, recommended 👍

Great to come across this LNR (local nature reserve, nothing to do with London NW Railway!). It’s within walking distance of Cambridge yet so peaceful and felt as if it was miles from anywhere. Full of natural vegetation and some history.

The spring is crystal clear and carries a nice bit of local history. The trees, however, are in a poor state and I've seen the reserve be misused by people on a few occasions.

I've been coming to this place since I was a child, despite it being so over grown and uncared for these days, I'm very grateful that the place is still open to the public and it's worth the venture. I've seen many dogs swim in the water there - I wouldn't recommend swimming yourself, but it can be good to help you cool down.
