A mosaic of chalk grassland and woodland, with a completely spectacular display of orchids in summer. This is one of the orchid hot-spots in south-east England.

I had the most tranquil hour or so just sitting quietly under a young oak tree here on a baking Saturday morning, listening to the birds and insects. Even the grass sward had a stunning variety of different plants growing there. I saw not another soul. The only downside was the number of small aircraft flying over.

We have visited Noar Hill several times and enjoyed it immensely.

It is rare to see any other people at this place. There are several varieties of orchids to see and enjoy. One can easily spend a few hours here and there is so much to appreciate, such as the beautiful flowers.

Lovley for a simple loop walk around the bottom and top of Noar Hill. Right at the top, there used to be a dwelling and there is information about the history. Take boots it's very muddy !
