Small nature reserve on the outskirts of Colchester. Not a lot there except a field but the woods next to it are coppiced so there is at least some management going on.

Lovely woods but very muddy

This is a hidden gem for mountain bikers....maybe I shouldn't be sharing this information! A great set of tracks, jumps and slalom routes.

Ok, the nature reserve itself is quite small, however I recommend going of the path leading to the reserve. There is a forest with fantastic scenery with a dirt skate park. It's very quiet and you can hear the birds sing. Not too many people there, a good place to go to for half an hour .

Plenty of flowers like bluebell's in late may, however the reserve is small and paths are quite muddy

Lovely and peaceful during the week. Great for cycling at weekends.
