Oasis in the city - it's small but does everything a nature reserve should do, pass through for a quiet moments peace, or head through early morning to experience a riot of birdlife - more small areas in the cities deserve to be conserved and this place shows you just how and why

This is a cool spot for using body weight exercises due to some bars and such available.

However it’s overgrown (there’s a path but it’s blocked either end by overgrowth) and nearly invisible to public.

Council should get involved to turn this into a small and local attraction to be proud of!

When the footpath by the pond is quiet you'll be surprised at what wildlife is so close to the city centre. Although kids rampaging for Pokemons often disturb the tranquility and startle some unexpected visitors!
Recent publicity of this area gives it a bad reputation, which can occur anywhere in town that is secluded and away from traffic!

Beautiful little oasis, well kept by volunteers

Very disappointing. The actual reason for visiting, ie to see the ponds all gates to access ponds were padlocked shut. We spent £5.00 to park and after 20mins was back in our car and leaving.

A wildlife area close to the city centre. Not very big but quite a mixture of habitat. Wildflower species augmented by planting by volunteers.

Relaxing to sit and enjoy nature even with trains going by. Outdoor gym equipment among the greenery for those so inclined. Volunteers keep the area suitably trimmed whilst allow the flora and fauna to thrive.

Watch out for toads on the path at the back of Teledyne E2V !

A small oasis in the middle of Chelmsford. It has a trim trail and bicycle racks. The actual ponds are in a fenced area but they are accessible when there is a practical session or open day. The rest of the site is open all the time.
