How did I live a stone's throw from this place but never visit!? Who would have known this little gem of a place was on my doorstep?! Joined as a member so we can visit often and through the seasons. Children loved running and exploring; following the pathways. Almost empty except for us and we enjoyed looking for the little fairies and their houses. These really looked like they had seen better days but my daughter loved this aspect of the walk none the less. The Nature Reserve was good for a couple of hours in the great outdoors and away from technology. We'll be back!!

Went for the first time and we had such a lovely time. Staff were super helpful and enthusiastic. Museum was full of wonderful treasures and I loved the little trails the kids could do which kept them really excited and engaged. £10 for a one off family visit or £20 for the year! Bargain!

Adorable. Even when raining! Took my toddler for a walk around for something to do.. Was free for him and only a fiver for me. We wrapped up and enjoyed a day out in our wellies looking at all the interesting things - didn't realise how big it was!

What a wonderful find. We enjoyed a lovely few hours at Monkton Nature Reserve. Great value for money. Staff/volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable too. Would definitely recommend.

Although small, Monkton has a lot to offer and the volunteers are very welcoming. They've done a great job with a small space and though August tends to be a quiet time for birds I did get a great view of a buzzard which flew out in front of me on the woodland walk.

Local nature reserve. Went on Heritage open day so free, usually £5. Surprised to see facilities on site.
Didn't see much wildlife when we went but members obviously very passionate about the reserve.

Super friendly staff - a lot of volunteer time and effort has clearly gone into this place. Fun little second hand book store and a museum packed full of local curiosities, fossils, artefacts etc. Cafe doesn't stock much (depths of winter though) but would be a cracking spot for a picnic. Not very push chair friendly, especially with the wet ground (wear your boots!) but a great way to kill a few hours in some very untypical Kent country side. Have yet to try the stargazing but would imagine it's excellent.

Probably one of the best Marie reserves in Kent. Volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of activities available throughout the year. The pond dipping is great fun.
