Welches Meadow

Excellent walk in the summer and breathtaking scenery in the winter. Highly recommended for those that love long walks and walking with all types of wildlife. Several species of butterflies and birds can be spotted in this area for animal lovers to explore.

This is a beautiful and constantly changing green space near the centre of the town. In the summer the wild grasses grow tall, in the winter the early morning mist over the frosty ground is glorious. Throughout the year Canada geese honk as they fly over the meadow at dusk. It can flood when the river is very high, bringing all sorts of water fowl to feed. There is a path around the meadow. Bring wellies when it is wet, there is often water at the eastern end near the reservoir.

Dog walkers (like me) please pick up your dog poo and leave this wonderful place mess free and a healthy place for kids and dogs to visit.

Such a lovely meadow, great for exploring nature with my three year old, with tree copses for dens or "houses", plants and insects, through to standing down by the river watching the fish!

Great place for daily dog walks!

Tends to get mucky and/or flooded in winter!

In this weather its good in morning when frosty so no so muddy but if your prepared for it, its a fantastic walk anytime 😀 🚶🏾‍♀️🐕🥾👍🏾

Great off lead walking area for dogs. Plenty of wildlife throughout the year
