West Harnham Chalk Pit

Lovely walk to get to the cliffs. Once you have reached the top there is a lovely view of Salisbury and the Salisbury cathedral. There is a bit of litter about though, and people have created a biking area with bike jumps.

The jumps up there are good for beginners but not much for the more experienced. If you’re into free ride this is the place for you as there are several cliff drops!

Beautiful walk along Bishop's Walk to above the old chalk pit. Great frozen details in from a frosty day out.

Great place to come and ride mtb, few smaller jumps tables/gaps and freeride drops of the cliffs.

It is always fun walking up to the Chalk pit. There are various paths through the Harnham community and a longer one through the field via Netherhampton.

The location is popular with dog walkers and bikers especially when the weather is right. We typically go during summer. And the view of the surrounding community and Salisbury at large isn't bad.

Note: The best season to visit is during summer or any other time when the ground isn't wet. We once had a short picnic and it was fun.
