A little tranquil gem on the edge of the city of Wolverhampton, running alongside the canal. Free accessibility 24 hours a day, great for walkers, runners, dog walkers, kids and cyclists. Lovely for it's mix of wildlife, flora and fauna in abundance. Birdsong in the day, peaceful in the night.

I love Smestow Valley and have been going there since lock down in 2020. It provides an escape for family and is scenic and peaceful
The recent upkeep of the bushes have slipped though to the point where you have to duck under trees that have fallen and might even scrape your leg on Holly or nettles when riding.

We mainly ride here but it's also great for walking!

Lovely clear track through an arch of trees. We walked through with our grandson in a pushchair. Very peaceful and he dropped off to sleep. Perfect!

One of my favourite places for a walk. Cupcake Lane cafe is only open Thursday to Sunday. The small museum is an interesting little find. The walk along the river and over the bridges and locks are fantastic to just clear your mind. The barge owners all say hello as they pass and usually a lot of dogs to fuss too.

Nice place to take your dog for a walk or go for a walk/jog.
Only annoyance is other dog walkers. They need to respect people who have their dogs on leads and display so much ignorance to this fact.
Generally people are quite pleasant. Best to go early mornings or late evenings.

Fantastic walk follow the old train track for nice flat clean surfaces or drop into the reserve and along the canal good footwear recommend for this part

Really nice varied walking environment. Mainly flat but the fisused railway path through the woods with the old station platforms and building, the canal side paths and the valley views make a wonderful setting. Shame the cupcake cafe wasn't open.

Lovely walk along the canal, and then down cupcake lane. Such a nice calm walk, lovely surroundings.
