Great place for bird watching. Visitors today include white egret. Pleasant walks on gravelled paths. Loads of wildlife and interesting fauna. Right on outskirts of Nottingham. Examples of early dwellings built by volunteers.

The walk of choice for the rushcliffe area, water, woods, open space and lots of wildlife, Berry picking haven... A 5km lap around the watersports rowing lake or can do up to 15km quite easily. Nottingham's hidden gem.

Just a lovely place for a gentle walk. The site is split on both sides of the road, one side offering shady paths through the woods, the other more open. Both are full of wildlife and bits of interesting nature: the division giving a range of habitats and therefore different inhabitants. Walking routes are well signposted and most are along hard pathways making the sites largely accessible to wheelchairs etc. The longer route round Blots pond is not accessible but is otherwise fairly gentle going. Rarely busy, this well maintained reserve is a hidden treasure.

Lovely place for a quiet walk. Well shaded on a sunny day, so good for dogs. You can cut onto the rowing lake as well for alonger walk.

Wake up your inner adventurer, grab your wellies or walking boots and head off to Skylarks Nature Reserve! This place is just beautiful 🥰 If you're following Google maps it will take you to a small carpark. You will see a map there for that side of the reserve and a little sign asking for a voluntary donation to the Wildlife Trust. Please do this as we need all green spaces we can master in this concrete World. 😇 You can also park up and down the road. Along the road, you will see a few entrances for the reserve on both sides. This place is maaaasiveee! Both sides have little ponds and bogs and very diverse wildlife. We saw a variety of birds so great for bird watchers. There are also different types of mushrooms for the mushroom hunters. My doggies absolutely loved this place. It has been fenced off with one of them square wires so the little ones cannot sneak out. Bonus!! There are no horse riders in the actual woodlandy parts however there are horse pastures in the adjoining fields to the reserve so please be mindful of this 🥰 There is a main pathway which has been beautifully maintained but I will encourage you to take the side trails as well. You won't be disappointed the whole reserve is just wonderful 🥰 We would definitely be visiting again.
