It's where I take my dog for a walk every day pleasant enough surroundings.Regular spotting a grey heron most mornings and occasional glimpse of a kingfisher but a great many cyclists using the path many are polite and will ring their bells to let you know they are coming ,but there are some who ride along very quickly with no warning and no acknowledgement when you give them space

As a continuous cruiser boater I found that the canals were atrocious as far as the draft for boats were concerned, supposedly 4ft depth (CRT Canal Dimensions) but nearly everywhere we went i.e. Dudley 1&2 could not have been even 2ft 6ins, more 2ft to 2ft 3ins in places we admittedly have rear end draft of 32ins but seriously struggled to get anywhere, nearly to a stop in places and had to call out RCR at one point for a dislodged rudder off the bottom cup, they said they get loads of callouts in this area for groundings and prop/rudder problems. Come on CRT where are the dredgers, in some places there has been none for years, quite obviously!!!! In our 5yrs on the cut this area is not unique to this problem, there are many areas that could do with catching up on the dredging and not just to 2ft 6ins down the middle!!!!!
