Smockmill Common

Hilly woodland area with many narrow paths. Takes about half an hour to walk all the way round. Quite a lot of fallen trees and branches on the ground, and paths running next to streams make this more suitable for older children.

Car park has very few spaces and can be found right on the bend in the road.

Stunning walk along the river were you can see the fish baby brown trout and a few full size one to. You can paddle in the river on a hot day

Lovely walk, very clean and no rubbish and people have poo picked which is great. Lovely river and interesting plants including Indian orchid rhododendron type River plants and horse brush! Will definitely be coming back:)

Great for dog walking, kids running, adults strolling, unfortunately not wheel chair friendly.
Since "lockdown" litter. dog poo.damage.etc terrible. Please people just take a few minutes to pick it up and take it home. Thanks

It's a nice walk through diverse woodlands. Evidence around of what was here many years ago

Drove 40 minutes through loads of road closures to find a car parked across the entrance to the car park. Possible building works. No mention on the website.

A beautiful area for a quick walk with our dog. Very peaceful.
