Sutton Orthodontics

So pleased I used Sutton Orthodontics. Initially visited for my daughter but sought my own consultation and started realignment treatment. So pleased I had it done and love my smile. Had looked like I had a tooth missing but now looks great with a fixed retainer keeping teeth in place. Well worth the short time with a brace. All the consultants and staff were helpful, friendly and professional. I highly recommend the practice.

We didn't have a great experience from the first appointment and it's getting worse. My daughter was having her regular checkup and her new dentist was treating her like an object. This doesn't make a child comfortable with going to the dentist which I think is very unhelpful for an already scary experience. They did not explain a thing about the treatment to me. When I asked a question, she answered very rudely. This also happened with the consultant who is supposed to talk about the next steps in the treatment.

I decided to get braces when I turned 40 as I never had them before and I have never been happy with my teeth. Well, now they are looking so straight and we would not have got there without the tireless work of Dr Arya and her team. I had fixed braces which were best for my teeth. The reception staff are efficient and helpful and I was kept informed throughout my journey. Anyone thinking about it I can recommend Sutton Orthodontics.

I came here looking for fixed retainers following orthodontic treatment with Smiledirect. The 2 stars is for Sutton Orthodontics taking me on as a patient.

Otherwise, in spite of the substantial cost that I paid, the dental assistant initially botched up the work, and I had to return to get it redone by Dr. Arya. My disappointment was not so much about the initial botch up but more that Dr. Arya initially tried to blame it on me (despite the fact that I had initially complained about it within an hour of the procedure). She finally relented and redid it but not to a very good standard.

From about 3 weeks after her work, the 'fixed' retainers started showing signs of movement requiring me to wear my removable retainers frequently to keep my teeth in place. I have since approached her practice multiple times to help fix the issue but each time she takes my money (charges a hefty £75 consultation per appointment) and tells me how she can't do anything about it. I don't like her attitude towards me or how she talks to me, and she has not shown any empathy or been apologetic throughout the process.

I strongly feel that these private practices could benefit from stronger scrutiny from the regulator to ensure that they are treating paying patients fairly regardless of where they come from.

Sadly, it looks like I will need to find another orthodontist to redo the work, hopefully someone who knows better what they are doing.

All the team are very professional and very helpful. I had braces on for just over a year and every appointment was very easy and I am very happy with how my teeth look. Dr. Arya is very kind and told me what she was doing and why she was doing it at every appointment. Thank you to the whole team.
