I wanted to get some more climbing shoes, but needed some help as I hadn't bought any in years. The staff were really friendly and helpful, great service. Prices were good too. I'd definitely recommend them.

You have to book a slot at the moment to shop here (covid risk mitigation), it's a good system. We felt safe and unrushed. The service is second to none. Brett fit us up with boots and Tom with a pack. Brilliant service, great products.

Following a recommendation for a specific brand of walking boot, I called and made an COVID secure appointment at Open Air for a fitting.

I was seen by Tom, whose service I was delighted with. He was very personable, knowledgable, professional and he was very dedicated to ensure that we took as much time as required to select the correct boot and size.

I will certainly revisit the store based on the great service I received, thanks Tom.

What a shambles! I purchased a pair of Haglöfs Bungy tights for my wife a year ago, great tights but not terribly durable. Having spoken to Haglöfs regarding the issues they instructed me to contact the retailer I purchased them from. From initial contact Open Air Cambridge have been worse than useless. I have emailed them five times regarding the tights and have had one slightly lame reply. I have returned a rather expensive pair of tights to their “returns department” and have heard nothing. Their website professes that this company prides itself on its customer service, this is certainly not my experience. I would urge caution when dealing with this company, they certainly do not value their customers at all!

This is by far the best place I know to buy walking boots. The staff really know their stuff and seem to just know which boots will work for your feet.

Update 13/02/22: Sadly COVID is forcing them to close.

Amazing service. If you need a boot fitting try the virtual boot fitting - it is amazing. I have had boot fitting in flagship stores in London and specialist shops in the Lakes - no one is as good as Open Air. Jonathan was so knowledgeable about how to fit boots and how each brand/ style fits. Outstanding. Please open a store in Surrey!

I was looking for some lightweight walking shoes.
Like many people, I believe I have weird feet so I booked a personal fitting service with the Open Air team.
I do have weird feet, but no matter, Brett was hugely knowledgeable and filled me with confidence. He clearly understood my needs and what brands/styles would be the most appropriate fit for my feet. We narrowed down options to a choice of two and I chose a pair of Hanwags.
Feeling very pleased with my purchase, I treated myself to a couple of pairs of walking socks.
Thanks to the talented Open Air team for the excellent service provided.
