Durham Park & Ride Howlands

Cheap and convenient, buses are every like 10 minutes. There's toilets at the station as well which is a useful addition. Plenty of space. Highly recommend to save having to loop the city over and over looking for parking.

First time ever used a park and ride and won't be again as been hit with a £50 fine even tho on the botanical gardens website states that you can use the park and ride for free to go to the gardens but does not state that you have to notify park and ride where your going and if it's the first time you have ever used a park and ride how are you meant to know this? Yes there are signs at the exits and at the top it's highlighted in yellow that you can use car park for the gardens, it's not highlighted that you have to tell them where your going very disappointed with the experience

The park and ride facility at Howlands is a good way to see the city of Durham without the hassle of finding city centre parking. Plenty of free parking spaces and a regular bus service for £2 return makes this an easy option compared to finding parking if your not local to the area and would no doubt cost a lot more for a day's parking. A top class service with sociable drivers highly recommended.

Use this service for work and it's unreliable making me late for work 4 days out of 5. I get there for just after 8am to start work in Durham City at 9am, enough time to get there, if the buses actually run to time. The council lie and say there is two buses but there isn't. There's only 1 driver (no complaint against him he's lovely) and 1 bus. Not sure where the imaginary bus the council see is.

Good parking area. Spotlessly clean building and WC facilities. Easy to use ticket machine and just £2 to go into Durham.

Great to avoid city centre parking, but i had difficulty finding the return bus stop?! In hindsight it's probably best to ask where to catch the return bus when dropped off!!

Really good service well worth parking the car here. Buses run vert regularly so your not hanging around long. Bus drivers very helpful will let you know were to get on for the return journey

Easy access and parking . Only £2.00 return although only up the road from the centre. However glad we used it as it's chaos at the moment with roadworks!
