I used the park and ride to visit the Heath hospital. Parking at the hospital is always a worry and driving round the hospital is also tricky. This free massive car park only 7 minutes bus ride away from the centre of the hospital is so much easier. Buses are every 20 minutes and access is from the A48m Pentwyn junction. Free wifi on the bus as well as a great view from the too deck and all for free. What's not to like.

We parked our car here for a day trip to Cardiff City Centre and highly recommend it. There is ample parking and the car park is a brief bus ride to the centre. It really takes the hassle out of finding an affordable parking spot. Just download the Cardiff bus app and purchase your roundtrip ticket in advance and you'll be all set.

Only a bus every 30 minutes. £5.50 for a car of 2 or more. Customer service of the bus driver has a lot to be desired. As visitors to the area a bit of help with where to get off etc would not have gone a miss. Would I use it again....sorry Cardiff but I won't be back.

Parking is spacious. Easy access to buses. Limited cover in bad weather. Unwelcoming as a site, doesn't encourage use. No toilets or facilities at all. Compared with many other cities it is a very poor service, particularly for a capital city.

I feel bad for giving 3 stars because the H59 service I rely upon is free and the drivers are generally lovely. I seem to remember that it ran more frequently than every 20 minutes at one point? I might have made that up though.

My biggest issue is that the service has been cut back dramatically since it started. It doesn't run on weekends anymore for one thing, which doesn't help nursing staff! Hospitals don't close on weekends! Also, you can't park there overnight anymore. Not helpful for those working night shifts! "sorry Mr Jones, I realise you are having a massive stroke but we only work office hours so you'll have to hang on until Monday for treatment"..??!!

A small niggle to finish off... I caught the H59 from UHW back to the park and ride one night last week after a 12.5 hour shift at 19.40, and all the floodlights were off in the car park! It was literally pitch black.. so dark that even the torch on my phone did very little! Luckily I knew exactly where I had left my car, and there were other passengers around so I wasn't completely alone (which would have been a bit frightening). How would a disabled / sensory impaired / unsteady person have coped with that, and who would have been responsible if an accident had occurred? Not safe!!

Use this all the time as I work at UHW and it's a nightmare to park after 7am. Buses are fairly regular and it's super convenient for staff and visitors alike. Would definitely recommend as it takes the stress out of trying to find a space or the worry of getting a ticket. Best of all it's free for staff

What a terrible shame that the last remaining park and ride service for Cardiff will stop operating in January.
