Good sized grounds for football and rugby. It greatest advantage and weakness is you can approach from several suburban cul de sacs. Check on the satellite view where the parking is cos Google maps took us to the wrong location!

Very big playing field, great for footie and a run around. There can be a few dogs. Nice little park. You can park near it. Lots of entrances to it.

A wide accessible open space that's generally well cared for. Given the number of dog walkers who come here there's surprisingly little mess left on the grass.

A small play area in one corner is looking a little tired. But it's generally still serviceable though really only suitable for smaller children.

Youth soccer takes over most of the pitches on Saturdays and some Sundays during the season.

Apart from the cricket and rugby matches held here throughout the year there's also a large annual Fair held in June which is well worth a visit.

The new wild areas, added in 2022, look great when in full bloom.

Another Gloucester Urban Greening Project Visit.

“At King George V Playing Fields we are proposing to plant a number of native tree in addition to creating several swales on the edge of the park to increase bio-diversity and reduce flood risk. The spoil removed for the swales will be used to create butterfly banks which will provide habitat for other pollinators.”

There is evidence that the work has taken place, but I visited at the wrong time of year to witness the wildflowers and the trees (obviously) need a few years to become established.

Not the most aesthetically pleasing (as a whole) of all the open spaces I’ve visited. However, the one walkway there is (besides the outdoor gym) is particularly pleasant and there was little to no litter around (again, a persistent problem I have noticed in other locations).

Great for walking dog and playing with kids. Bud wide open flat space. Well maintained and kept pretty clean. Has play area and exercise machines.
