Chestnuts Field

Nice, useful open space with plenty of uses. It's a little shy of 15 acres of fairly even grass and catches the sun nicely - so mostly used for ball games, dog-walking and the occasional picnic. I find it's pleasantly quiet most evenings so I usually run here. Usefully, a lap round the edge is a little over 1km.

It's purely a practical space though. There's not much there, and the grass is usually cut to within an inch of its life. You also want to watch your step, and probably stick clear of the ditch on the north side as it stinks to high heaven in the summer.

It would be nice to see the council invest some more in the space, but at least it's not been sold off as housing!

Open field great for kids to run around or play. No facilities here, but just the fact it's regularly maintained and grass cut and large area gives opportunity for all to enjoy. Eg running, cricket, football, kite flying, ball games etc........

Nice place to relax & amazing place for fireworks

Open fields. Not much to say except I've never seen them overly crowded. Good for a jog, run, or a workout in the open. They open really early, which makes them perfect for morning jog (not like other nearby parks that are locked early morning).

A community open green space located in Walthamstow behind the Town Hall. It is a large green field that is used by the local schools for sports day. Can be used as a natural running track as it is about 600 metres around. It is also located near an actual running track. A good dog walking space. Used by the community for fireworks display. I used this open space to eat my lunch during the summer months.

I love this hidden treasure. A oasis of green behind the town hall. The only time was quite busy was in lockdown when the people found it as the only place to exercise. Now is not busy at wall, you can run around, you can bring a blanket and lay on the sun. You can play ballgames with the kids. Is big and great for any outdoor activity

Great field for taking the dogs, usually several other dogs there so good opportunity for dogs to socialise and play
