Stand Road Recreation Ground

A well maintained public park with two free car parks. The park consists of a large grassed area of football pitches with paths and slightly wooded areas for dog walking.

There’s a well-equipped smaller kids play area towards the bottom of the park with swings, climbing frames etc. Towards the top of the park are areas for larger kids with a ball court, skate park and larger play area. There’s also a cafe with toilets next to the bowling green however it only opens some weekends when football teams are playing.

It can get very busy Saturday and Sunday mornings with football teams or when Chesterfield FC play at home, as many spectators use the car parks.

Great park for the kids with a small skateboard/scooter park, swings and play equipment and a football / basketball court.

There is sometimes broken glass on the courts and the local late evening kids are less than considerate with their rubbish...the council ought to be mindful of this and have a morning clear up

Lots of green spaces too for running and playing when the ground is firmer...all in all a good few hours of fun to be had

Park was clean and grass well cut. Shame the toilets weren't open we had to cut out visit short. Looked like there was an issue at the other end of the park the police were there but soon dispersed.

Enjoyed a competitive game of Crown Green bowls away to Stand Park.
Very pleasant surroundings and clean and well maintained facilities.

Went here for a pride event and it is most definitely a suitable venue with a large flat space!
