Great place for a short walk or walking the dog. There are places for children to play on (when it is safe) like climbing frames etc and wooden structures to see. There is a visitors centre but this was not open when we visited.

Houghton hall park is a little gem.
A good place to visit for a few hours with kids and dogs.
They have a very reasonably priced cafe on site, a small indoor activity area for children to enjoy and toilets on site.
The outside space includes a small park area, walks looping through woodland and big open green space. There is a path that makes it easy for wheelchair and pushchair users.
Hidden around the park are things like climbing frames for kids to seek out.
There are also some very well looked after kitchen and ornamental Gardens. They sometimes open the kitchen garden for perusal, but check in advance if you specifically want to visit these.
Definitely worth a visit.

First time I visited this place, even though it is on my door step. Lovely place to spend a couple of hours. The walk was very interesting and I ft very safe being on my own. Bought a cup of coffee which was nice and hot and the cafe was very clean. Good car parking facilities with free car parking. Will definitely visit again. Great place for children and if you have a mobility scooter.

This is a great place for families. Play football, have a picnic, enjoy the sun and just relax with family or friends. Very peaceful and theres a section that display beautiful flowers. Theres a climbing spider play frame that could be fun for children.

First time here a few weeks ago and it is lovely. I never even knew it existed! Nice open park with lots of little interesting natural features and places for kids to play, climb and discover. An easy way to kill a few hours and tire the kids out, and for picnics in the summer. Everything is fairly clean and well kept. There is also a decent sized car park and a coffee shop. The coffee shop was closed when we went due to the national lockdown, however there was a stall outside which was serving beverages and snacks. Lovely place would highly recommend.

Nice place to take a walk with the family. Great wood structure for the kids to climb and a nice garden area at the back. Even has a woody area to walk through. Also has a cafe with toilets.

Our 'go to' local open space. Well maintained, most people are friendly and it's a doggy paradise. Don't go there if you have a dog that doesn't like others off the lead, or train your dog to accept it. Parkrun held here too. Has kids play areas, a garden, woods, and a visitor centre with a cafe.

Nice, clean, well maintained park and kids play are with a cafe. The sunny day made it even better for a walk when we went there last time.

Was very excited to learn that in 1957 the houses here were being sold for under £2k.

The 3 star rating is because the sanitizer dispenser was empty and no sanitizing stuff available at the cafe to clean the tables. They have to take customer safety more seriously.
