Nice place to visit, take your children or walk your dogs - there are a big field, playgrounds for big and small kids, tennis courts and basketball courts too.

Nice local park, has 2 carparks although one carpark literally has about 6 spaces. The second a bit bigger. Small cafe with outside seating. Toilets too.
Basketball and tennis courts and five a side pitch, all concrete though.
2 children's play areas which are you usual, nothing too amazing. Large football pitches towards the top end which dogs are not allowed to enter.

Alexandra Recreation Ground is ok well maintained. Regular cricket 🏏 matches are being played. Local people are also taking much interest to organise matches for both boys n girls.

Depends what you want from your local park. If its swings, tarmac perimeter footpath, mixed recreational sports pitches, basket ball hoops, tennis courts, hard surface football, bowls club, dog walking and an on site Café with parking nearby Alexandra Park ticks all the boxes
If you expect finely turfed football pitches its probably a no for you but they do drain well!
Lived here 15 years and still can't work out when the toilets are supposed to open.
Post note: various fitness trainers, martial arts and basket ball clubs appear to use the park each day - weekends can be especially busy which gives the park a nice vibe
Update: The Karen's and miserable busy bodies are spending their remaining days lobbying the council to shut down over half the park to dog walkers.
Eventually they will realise all those lock down dog owners are also vote for their bosses.

Lovely park for dog walking & playing sports for children. A recently opened community cafe sells excellent coffee/teas with a selection of homemade cakes (£3.50). Outside seating area. An ideal place to meet a friend/s.
