Not made over welcome as we had only gone out of interest and not because we wanted to live an alternative lifestyle. Was offered some burnt cake and a cup of tea. Had a quick look round and left. Once back home and walking around the town was stopped by one of the Lammas residents for £7.50 for the burnt Cake. I had no change so she took £10.00. Not a place I would want to visit again. The speaker kept looking at her mobile phone, not a great day at all.

Had a brilliant day doing an 'Off Grid Power' course! The place is beautiful and the residents are lovely. Definitely worth visiting this remarkable place!

Visited Lammas Eco Village for one of the OPD plot open day tours. Hoppi and Tao Ambush were our guides & hosts. Both are excellent communicators & love to share the back story of the project and vision for the future. The eco village is a great example of low impact living (under Wales's One Planet Development planning policy). The transformation of the land in 10 yrs from fairly bland sheep grazing into rich, biodiverse, productive habitats is amazing. Highly recommend visiting if interested in alternative living.

All is not as it seems. Once you stay longer than for one of their courses you get a much clearer idea of what is really going on. None of the families get along and are constantly arguing/fighting. Most of them shop at Tesco, work fulltime (not off the land) and they even drive their 4x4's from their houses to the communal hub which is less than a 3 minute walk. Honestly it is all a façade to get money out of people. The most well known people here are by far the worst culprits. Do yourself a favour and stay away, there are better places where you will learn more from honest people.

An amazing project which deserves all the visitors and exposure it can get. Tao and Hoppi's tours over the summer are particularly worth while!

hoppi and tao not their real names (martelle and Paul) have totally destroyed the place and driven away all the productive people.
they put on pretentious parties that go past the 11pm curfew, they swan about in their 4x4, shopping in marks and Spencer, and have taken over the place. Hoppi came from Holtsfield and is not welcome back there.
their hydro turbine is broken and the hub which cost 400k is rarely used.
just watch out for Hitler Hoppi!

IT IS NOW SATURDAY THE 4th OF JULY 2020 &, I AM WATCHING THE TV SERIES "GRAND DESIGNS".
THE PROGRAM IS FOCUSED AROUND A LOVELY COUPLE CALLED ~
"SIMON" 💙 & "JASMINE" 💚, WHO ARE SELF BUILDING THEIR OWN HOUSE 🙂.

IT LOOKS LIKE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE AREA HAVE LATCHED ONTO THEIR METHOD OF HOUSE BUILDING &, IT LOOKS LIKE A SMALL VILLAGE HAS APPEARED ON THE HILLSIDE 😃.

I'D LOVE TO KNOW IF THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION IS OPEN AS A HOLIDAY STAY 😃.
THE SURROUNDING WELSH COUNTRYSIDE LOOKS STUNNING (AS USUAL).

OTHER PEOPLE CAN CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG BUT, THIS PLACE IS KNOWN AS THE ~

I visited the Lammas Eco Village last Saturday. It is a great place where you can find a collective of eco-dwellings and traditional farming. These buildings made of locally sustainable materials. Residents are friendly and helpful. I met Caz and Tom. They are offering Saturday tours for visitors beginning at 11am at the Community Hub. The tour took less than one and a half hour, there were opportunities for questions and discussion during the tour. I do recommend the place if you are looking for farming and some alternative ways to live with local sources.
