A beautiful place. We decided to walk the whole way around the reservoir, it's 7.5 miles and undulating. A visit to the loos are needed before setting out as there aren't any en route after the visitor centre.
I would also recommend that you take a drink with you too.

Excellent place for both a walk and a mountain bike session. The mtb sections follow the main resivour route very well. Some very tight turns on the red and black sections which do alow it down somewhat but the views and descents are well worth a look. Takes around an hour to cycle it. Trails are only a year old so very nice to ride. Visitors centre and park are very new as well and are very nice. Well worth a visit especially if your stopping at Bluestone.

"Dam good" day out.

Beautiful weather made for an excellent day out.

Would suggest going clockwise around 6ish mile loop, of the reservoir (opposite to signs) as you then get the less hilly towards the end.
Take a picnic blanket and ensure the views!

Easy parking and clean facilities, inc. Cafe is a great start to this park. There's probably much more to discover as we just popped in to have a gander. Just enough time for tea and cakes within the free first hour! Nice.

It's a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive here.
Plenty of parking spaces, disabled bays all are paid parking which you can pay on the meter or on the app! £3 all day parking and card only.
Toilets opposite the car park.
Cafe and shop.
Some areas disabled friendly.
Loads of benches dotted about and plenty of bins for poo bags and rubbish so no excuses to dump anything!
Activities can be pre-booked or booked when you arrive, we did an hour of archery and Alex the instructor was absolutely brilliant, not only was he knowledgeable, he was great with my teenagers, friendly and patient in guiding them and they really enjoyed their session.
There is an adventure play area for the kids and even an enclosed dog agility course to keep your canine friends happy...if your four legged friends are anything like mine then they will just look at you like your daft if your go in there with them but we definitely had a laugh!

Took the dogs for a walk around the lake. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Need to be extra careful with the dogs as there are many cyclists around but there are separate tracks for those on two wheels and all the cyclists we meet were careful and polite. Lake is absolutely beautiful with the sun shining on it. It's a long walk right the way around so families with small children beware, but plenty of areas for picnics and relaxing and activities galore. Best deserved cup of coffee to be had at the café on our return.

beautiful, peaceful and fairly easy walk except its a pretty long walk around the reservois.. it deceives u walking around it as u think you're halfway from what u can see, when in reality you're probably only a third of the way around because some of the reservoir isn't visible until you're going around it..
barely any people there when we went, but the visitor centre and cafe were open. had one of the nicest cornish pasties ever to replenish after the long walk!!
