There are numerous car parking areas with hard core/gravel covering.
There is good signage indicating where cars can park and where buses and larger vehicles can park.
Parking isn't too far from the shop/entrance.
There disabled parking spots too.
There is no charge for parking but obviously you do pay to go onto Fountains Abbey grounds.
The car parks are in keeping with the surrounding countryside with them being surrounded by trees and bushes.
Ample parking spaces.

Parked here to jog parkrun on a Saturday morning. Carpark is decent sized. The grounds are amazing here and the scenery was fab while running round. Will return one day to visit properly.

Good large car park giving access to Studley Royal and ruins of Abbey both well worth the visit.

Handy 7kw EV chargers, six in total. Good sized car park near the entrance.

Large carpark suitable for campers and caravans. Very long parking bays - our 6m camper only took up half the space, so suitable for larger RVs. There were some cars parked in these spaces though, so when it gets busy there might not be enough spaces. Plenty of signage to tell you which car park is for campers. No overnight parking or camping. The gates to the carpark close at 6.30pm. Pretty close to the visitor centre entrance.

Fantastic place to visit.
Consider joining English Heritage for the year then you can visit when you want more cost effective.

Great place for a roam and a picnic. Ruins of the abbey are very interesting and photogenic, and there's a good amount of information here and there (especially in the porter's lodge).
Café had two vegan options (vegan ploughman's sandwich in a bag, jacket potato with beans was the other I think), and a few vegetarian options. I wasn't a fan of the vegetarian sausage slaw bap (very greasy), so I'd probably recommend taking a picnic to enjoy on the large lawn either side of the abbey!
Really nice for a day out.
No problem parking on a busy Friday.
See the Fountains Abbey page nearby on Google Maps for more information and reviews!
