Don’t park there ever, it’s very very expensive, bays are tiny and they issue £60 fines and won’t withdraw them even when you appeal and produce the ticket that fell off from the dash. They knew I had a ticket anyway because I entered my number plate in their machine to get the damn ticket. They are pure and simple thieves.
I would just love to fill their machines with expanding spray foam to repay them, they aren’t worth the bother though. I just don’t park there anymore, which has saved me far more than the fine they levied

Hitchin train station very poor parking.. very rare to find a parking spot and when you do they charge like a wounded bull..

I was somewhat supprised that the charges here, certainly off peak were reasonable compared with those at my local station. The set up was long and thin extending down the lineside which was reasonable but when you are towards the end it means a long walk back to the station buildings. There were disabled spaces much nearer and plenty of contract parking in the same place. All in all it seemed a good place to start if you want that route to London

I give this mark for weekend parking because it's reasonably priced & you can usually get a space. You can pay by card if you don't have any change which is useful

Fairly major issue here with the size of the spaces. There are just about ok for a hatchback/estate/saloon or smaller, but any bigger and you’re going to struggle. You could get in there just about but opening the doors is an issue. If you’re not particularly able bodied, elderly or any other restriction this really becomes an issue. My particular issue was that I was unable to open the door wide enough to remove my baby’s car seat. My only option was the reverse the car put, take the baby out and put her in the pram, leave her in the car park on her own while I get back in and drive the car back in. Any parent will know this isn’t a good situation, seriously needs repainting with larger spaces.

Confusing carpark, with an appalling app payment system, would suggest you find an alternative.

Is what it is. Lots of ticket machines, plenty of space, I believe you can pay a premium to reserve a spot closer to the station.

Convenient. Had space, even after the train strike on a Saturday. Easy to pay.
