Visited to on the off chance of googling dog walking places .
Have to say it very relaxing great walk along the canal. Watching boats and kayaking people go past. And ducks and swans and babies swimming by.
Bonus is carpark if free .
Definitely will be returning.

This is a small free car park which can possibly hold some 25 cars, as a consequence the road up to it can also end up with cars parked along side it. It gets very busy for this stretch of the Basingstoke canal, my personal advice is get there early if the weather is good or is going to be good. We parked up at 7am there where just two car in the carpark , when we came back from our walk at 9.00am the car park and the road leading up to it were rammed with cars. It is a very popular slipway on to the canal mainly on the day we were there lots of paddle boards the type that you pump up.

Great spot to park down this beautiful stretch of canal. We did a circular route via the four seasons Hotel

Lovely walk along the canal (plus through the Four Seasons grounds to make a loop of it).
Plenty of parking spaces. Path is in good condition, but advise footwear suitable for the season (especially if you want to go off the pathways).
Pub across the road if you want food/drink after.
Bins at the car park for dog poo and litter.

We parked here to go kayaking. Perfect location for it. There were some people having a picnic on the benches which looked lovely. Will definitely park here again.

Barley Mow slipway car park is a small car park which can get very busy at the weekend and can be difficult to find a space. The Basingstoke canel is such a lovely place to walk. The path's in places can be a little narrow but it should not stop you from enjoying the your walk.

Lovely place to park and walk or launch your small craft - kayak or paddle board.
It gets quite busy though, often the car park is full and only parking on the road.
