Lovely walks from this car park. Been many times over the years. Car park is now under new management and no longer free.

No longer free but pretty reasonably nonetheless and you can pay using RingGo (the app), lovely walks from the car park and a couple of nice pubs within a few minutes walk

This carpark used to be free but now its under new management and of course there's now a charge.
I'm sure the cost of parking here will increase over time to a ridiculous tariff but at the moment five pounds for 24 hours is very reasonable and it's a lovely place to be on a warm sunny day.

This car park used to be 5 stars, however because of new charges, it’s no longer. Having said that, the charges are decent (from £1 for an hour up to £5 for 24hours) - I’m sure they’ll go up soon! Location is perfect for long walks along the sea wall and decent looking pubs and a cafe too (I haven’t actually tried either).

It's a shame that it's now chargeable to park here - but free parking is a rare thing these days.
It is "Ringo" pay by phone parking (or by card) - no cash - I've heard stories of people incorrectly getting parking fines despite paying for parking, so hang on to your parking ticket!

There are absolutely no parking by lines to guide poor drivers on how/where to park, which results in gaps in-between cars that are way bigger than they need to be but not big enough to fit a car in. Expect to drive round several laps or sit and wait for a space if you go at busy times/days. If there are no spaces left then that's you done & your planned day out by the river/estuary is immediately ruined.

I tried to pay with two different bank cards, the machine was very slow to process and declined both transactions. I went to another machine, again a very slow wait before the card was yet again declined. My daughter downloaded the Ringo App and after 2 attempts we managed to pay for our stay. Just checked my bank account and I have been charged twice. One on the App which added 50p for the ‘convenience’ of paying by App and once from one of the attempted payments at the machine which was declined with no ticket issued. . .I am now looking for a customer service number to contact the car park company.

Lovely afternoon stroll with furbaby and to top it free parking!!
Beautiful garden to wonder at as you pass by.
Wildlife to be spotted all around.
Places to stop and enjoy the views with food and drink on hand.
Stopped and chatted to lots of friendly dog walkers along the way

Decent size car park next to the canal into Chelmsford. Parking meters are now installed, Pay by card or Ringo. Reasonably priced we thought. Their are cafe's and Good pubs close by both with Quality food, as well as the Tiptree tea room on the shore side.
