Townfield Street Car Park

Awful experience at this place. Given the close proximity to the station you would expect at very least hours of opening to mirror the stations first and last timings, or even better automate the place so its 24hr. NOTE: the hours of opening before you park otherwise they’ll smack you with an extortionate release fee. Chelmsford Council once again balancing the budgets by clearly trying to profiteer from the unsuspecting commuter.

We parked here for the cricket on a Saturday, as it's only a short walk from the ground. Found a nice big space on the top. Couldn't get my coins in when trying to pay, so went contactless instead. At £1.50 for the whole day, it's a bargain! We shall use again.

five ⛦⛦⛦⛦⛦ for free motorbike parking ! but the smell! think that next to free motorbike parking inside the car park there's an open piss area 💩😨 haven't experienced such nasty smell for years. maybe someone can do something about it?

in a rush, just needed to meet someone from the station and have a quick coffee, didnt realise it would cost £8.50 for less than 2 hours! Some of the money they take from public could surely be used to clean the disgusting stair ways that absolutley stinks of pee....a little clear signage would help also, for those new to this place and don't know what level we're on.

Parked on the top level of this 6 level car park with my 3 month old daughter only to find there are no lifts or ramps for the whole car park meaning I had to walk down the car ramps to get the buggy down. No signs on the levels indicating there are no lifts or id have driven back out.I then asked where the exit was and a sarcastic staff member pointed me to the entrance where the cars come in, when I asked where the pavement was for me to safely get the buggy out he pointed across the road and said "pavements there". I had to walk across 3 lanes round a blind corner that the cars swing round to get into the carpark. So dangerous.

Not a bad car park, satifactory. Good price for a day's stay. A little bit confusing with the floor level design for pedestrians. Not clearly sign posted how to get to upper/lower levels using the pedestran walkways.

£17 to park overnight!! Only via an app. So let's hope you have a mobile signal to download the app to pay otherwise you're stuffed. Phone number on site extremely unhelpful tells you to go to a website fill in an online form then disconnects you.

Great centrally located car park near the station with very cheap long stay weekend parking. Parking there Sat 4pm till Sun 12pm only cost me £2.50 as of July 2021
