Coleorton Wood

This is a great little nature reserve, with a range of habitats, including a pond. This makes it a good place to take kids for a walk in the countryside, with plenty of wildlife birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc plus a range of fungi. It has a small car park with picnic tables. In addition there are more tables and benches around the site.
The reserve is managed by a local volunteer group who are gradually transforming this old coal pit.

Really nice, secure, relaxed woodland leisure &recreation area within National Forest. Dog friendly with picnic area .

Beautiful woods looked after by an amazing and inspiring local wildlife volunteer group. Best walked around during dry weather.
