Mercury & Asda Car Park

See my review on Mercury Shopping Centre. I got fined £60 by the council for making a u turn to get into the car park. Additionally they charge a fee for parking! In this day and age where we're supposed to help our town centres this is ridiculous. Additionally you can't pay by card, you can only pay by coin. This is a classical tax evasion scheme. You're better off going to Lakeside.

Had my catalytic converter stolen in this car park last Christmas. Anxious everytime when parking there.
Informed Romford Life at the time asking them to retweet warning to their followers...not a murmur. Obviously more worried about what effect this would have on custom. However, good to see more cctv cameras were put in place.

Parking ticket printed unreadable and after I paid , anyway I had to wait near exit gates , while the rest off cars where quing behind me ,until security called . There is no option to ask for help or speak to someone , if you have problem exiting the car park.

This is the worst car parks in the aira. The roof leeks V badly, surface is needing resurfaced, broken paying points, barriers broken.
Maintenance in non existent.

This is a massive car park, prices are reasonable.

Ok car park not too expensive

Upper deck of carpark is peeling away from the road surface and its generally in a poor state of repair, and none of the 3 machines for payment would provide a receipt, nor would they accept £20 notes, nor do any of them take cards!

If you are charging VAT it is a legal requirement to provide a receipt, or is this a case of avoiding paying taxes/money laundering I wonder?

This is also 2022 not 1976 - Why is there no card payment option here?

Cheap car park. Though you can't pay by card. Cash only. Change given. Discount if you shop at ASDA (says on the parking ticket) Sunday free
