Clovelly is without a doubt one of the nicest places to visit in this part of the world, the walk down to the harbor is truly spectacular with plenty of opportunities for cream teas or ice cream on the way down.

Cost more than GBP16 for parking cos paying for two adults entrance to village! Unfair to walkers who want to explore before entering the village and many walking routs start outside the village. The village is alright, but I don't see Robin Hoods Bay or Runswick Bay which are just as picturesque charging entrance fees.

Stunningly beautiful. Though expensive to get in. Shame as years ago you could just park up and walk down. If you are walking the coast paths you can access for free.

Literally didn't know what to expect when we turned up here. My Dad took us for a ride out and we ended up here! I didn't realise you had to pay on entry and got wristbands, bit of a strange having to pay to go down into a village, don't get me wrong the sights were beautiful and it was lovely but not ideal with a 2yo who didn't want to walk down and we were advised against taking the pushchair down (can completely understand this now). There is a land rover service that can drive you back up to the car park and you can go back in the gift shop/cafe, but this service is an additional charge - 3 adults (2yo was free) cost about a tenner! We had a lovely roast dinner mind you at the pub at the very bottom of the village next to the rocky beach. Definitely a whole different way of life down there.

If you have difficulty walking or aren't wearing grippy footwear I wouldn't recommend it. Not the usual place we would visit. But my husband said it was worth the warm walk down carrying our toddler for the delicious roast dinner.

Village is worth a visit but the entrance fee is extortionate, particularly given we visited in December at 3.30pm and everything was shut! Understand need for conservation etc but there should be a reduced fee for going off peak. The visitor centre is like going back to the 80s, a complete tourist trap selling tat.

Our fault possibly for not checking before. But went on a map to look at places to walk the dog and visit before we headed to the south coast and didn’t realise this was a private village, and it is £8.50 per adult to get in!!! Never heard of having to pay to walk into a village before 😂 I’m sure it would be lovely but we decided we just wanted a walk and went to widebridge beach nearby instead and paid a pound or so to park all day

Was hit by a lorry here, fractured four vertebrae and my collar bone. Spent 14 months in a cast and a later two years undergoing rehabilitation. Nice place though, would come again.

Car park (plus overflow parking) is included in the entrance fee in the visitor centre. There is also a RNLI shop, specialist beers shop and a heraldic name plaque shop within the car park
