How ridiculous, a 24hr car park that closes at 9pm. We went to the cinema in Newcastle and parked in the Midway car park at 7pm, buying a ticket valid 3pm til 8am. We, and half a dozen other people, came back to our cars at 10.30pm, and find all locked in. All have to get taxis home, and taxis back before 8am the next morning to avoid heavy fine. Newcastle is a dead town and the council should be encouraging people to come into town in the evenings; and certainly shouldn't be locking cars in their car parks overnight. All the car owners tonight knew that the upper levels used to be locked at night, but certainly not at street level. If the car park closes at 9pm, why do they sell parking tickets that go beyond 9pm? The pay station should state clearly that the ticket is only good until 9pm. I am absolutely livid.

Like everyone else here complaining I also got locked in at 9pm on a Saturday night and had to get a taxi back home. Honestly the situation is just ridiculous. Will park in the Vue car park next time.

DISGUSTING!!! here i was thinking what a fab night- lovely meal at pasta di piazza (i do recommend the calzone- but it is rather large ;) and bosh got to the car park and what would you know SHUT at 9PM but you’ll never guess because i parked IN the carpark at FIVE PAST NINE! had to call on auntie andrea in order to escape newcastle- but guess i’ll be back tomorrow early morning to retrieve my beloved vehicle.

Our car got locked in and we had to get a taxi home at 7pm on Bank holiday weekend…. Had no idea they locked the car park so early. Ridiculous

Carpark is ideal if want to park close to iceland
Only thing is it closes far too early, if someone is held up somewhere and running late if stranded in a qeue in a shop and you return to the car park 1 or 2 mins late your car is stuck in there for the night
And it used to be 5:30 on a sunday but when i was pokemonin with my nephew doing a community day we had to rush back to move the car as we were told it was closing at 4:30

This car park closes at 9pm every night except Sunday it closes at 5:30pm. It is completely locked up, there is no way to access your car. There is no phone number to call to get your car out. The car park is owned by the council and when you phone them to ask to get your car out they say they can’t do it. They also say that this happens almost daily. Go to the Travelodge down the road and stay the night and they say it happens all the time. There was another group who had the same issue as us that day. The sign saying it closes at 9pm is hidden behind pillar and, until I edited it on Google, it said it was a 24 hour car park. When you go to pay for a ticket it says you can pay till 8am the next day but then doesn’t warn you that you can’t get your car out between 9pm and 6:30am. They clearly know about these issues but choose to do nothing about it.

Completely horrendous management of the car park. Closes at 9pm on a Friday night for some reason, even though advertised as a ‘24 hour car park’. The actual sign saying that the car park is closed past 9 pm is hidden and only in one place.

In case of emergency, there is no way of getting into the car park either. Emergency contact number unavailable, and when we tried to contact the council/owners of the car park we were forwarded to someone in Worcestershire who said the can’t do anything. The worst part of which, they explained has been the case with many people over the last months/years. Yet nobody has chosen to address the situation. Absolutely terrible, and would not recommend for anyone to park here.

Got locked in. No help from the council or the emergency woman despite being miles from home with no money to get a hotel or a taxi.

Not impressed with this car park and would AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
