The staff need to Cheer up, served cake on a warm plate and burned the croissant in the panini press

As a regular customer, I would highly recommend Patisserie Valerie, Lakeside. Over the past few years, I have purchased celebration cakes for my son's First Holy Communion & birthday (the White Cigarette Celebration Cake on both occasions), individual treat size cakes as thank you gifts for his school teachers as well as gift cards and I have always received excellent service. Additionally, the way the cakes are displayed is appealing whether it be Halloween, Valentine's Day, Easter or Christmas. When I went there yesterday, there was a Royal Wedding theme with the special Royal Wedding cakes and cupcakes tastefully displayed. The cakes are also packaged in the distinctive Patisserie Valerie box, ribbon and bag which look sophisticated and when received as gifts have been gratefully received and enjoyed.
Ria, the two Gemmas, Hayley, Mason, Joseph & Joshua make a great team and offer a ready smile and friendly service every time I pick up my latte or cakes.

I order celebration cakes here for all the family members and get take away few times a month. The staff have always been friendly and have always helped with any special requests.

Love this place and the choice of cakes you can buy for a family member's birthday. Manager (lady) was really helpful: I pass by the evening before to find my cake choice had gone: she spoke to me and promise to keep a cake as I describe for me in the fridge for the next day evening. I came next day early morning (so not as planned) and the cake was already waiting for me safe in the fridge. Thank you.

I have to admit that I have fallen in love with Patisserie Valerie in Lakeside!! Not only are the generous portions of yummy cakes delicious. It is the perfect spot to stop and have a catch up with friends over a nice cup of tea. I have found this establishment to be clean, welcoming, relaxing and very friendly. I look forward to my next visit.

Not great value. But nice cakes.

The cake selection is great as usual. Coffee wasnt great and I was given a large cup for an espresso which i dont like. Prices are very high. 2.95 for an espresso is silly. I work in central london and dont pay those prices.

Clear your own table, whilst your there you also get to wash your own cutlery. They have no stock of food at all and have completely run out of everything on the menu by 10.45am. Apparently they’ve had a rush! They’ve sold ALL SIX mince pies! But don’t worry there are more coming this evening if you’d like to wait or return 😂
Two staff is not enough to take orders and payment, make drinks, serve and clear tables.

If you like coffee and cake, definitely worth a visit (before they fall back into administration). This is a small installation with 30 or 40 seats. Never been too busy when I've been, but might just be as I've visited out of peak times. Good place to relax mid-shop.
