Loved this place, came close to closing time, the girls running the shop allowed us to have a sit in whilst they cleaned up. The Latte and cake was fabulous. They had a good range of cakes and drinks and even gave us a free sour dough baguette on the way out.

I often pass by the Belle Epoque Patisserie in Newington Green on route to my beautician. It’s the perfect place to pop in for coffee and a croissant. Why not try a filled baguette or one of the savoury tarts for lunch? You’ll probably be tempted by their eclairs or other sweet treats in the afternoon. If you’re looking for a bakery or the best French patisserie in Newington Green, you’ll adore Belle Epoque. I wrote an article for my blog, see some lovely pictures below.

I’m absolutely disgusted by one of their staffs behavior. Me and my friends asked to use the toilet 3 TIMES and ignored us. So we asked a different lady and she said yes. We proceed to go down to the toilets and did so. When I went in the toilet, I heard the woman that ignored us saying to my friends, ‘You needed to get permission from me’. And my friend said that she asked a different lady and she said yes. The woman that ignored us then said ‘No no no’ with rude hand gestures to them. When we finished using the toilet, we walked out like normal human beings would and she decided to comment saying ‘No thank you? Ok don’t come back here again.’ Personally what staff would you hire to be like that to people coming in a shop you work in. Honestly she needs to be humbled.

Great little French-style cafe. Atmosphere is great and the croissants and the Belle Époque cake is amazing. Would definitely recommend. Also great coffee not that North American/trendy acidic/fruity junk the usually serve.

I visited this restaurant on 2nd January for the first and last time.

I placed order with female member of staff who seemed to be in charge of more junior co workers. I ordered coffee and pastry to eat - in.
I was struck by her very unfriendly and abrupt demeanour, something I am not used to when visiting a café, although I do not live in UK.

I was served at my table by a very nice and polite young man.

When I finished eating, I went back to the counter to order two takeaway toasted sandwiches for my family.
Having waited for more than 10 minutes for this order, I noticed that a girl was preparing one toasted and one untoasted sandwich.
I politelty and calmly asked the same unfriendly server about my order, reminded her that both sandwiches were to be toasted.
She got very angry with her co-workers, shouted at them, and scowled at me saying they were busy and I would have to wait longer. It was apparent that the co workers were nervous and intimidated by her.
The hot drink that I ordered was cold by the time I got my sandwiches.
This woman should realise it's si important to be friendly, and a smile doesn't cost anything.
