Alex & The Cakes

For my brother's Birthday, I wanted to order him a cake.
Since he lives in Ealing, London (I'm in Canada) I did a quick online search and came across Alex & The Cakes' website (after perusing a few) which instantly caught my attention. The next day, I made a quick call to the company and spoke with an amazing person who ensured my brother would have the cake the next day.

I placed an order for the Chocolate, Pear and Carmel layer cake to be delivered. I did notice that their delivery areas potentially fell outside of where my brother lived but the next day, my brother received the cake which was "..astounding, not too sweet, creamy and so flavorful".
The company also emailed me a photo with the impeccable finished product and a message saying: your brother's cake will be delivered tonight!

Exceptional customer service!!! The process was smooth and easy not to mention the cake was made with all-natural ingredients. Heaven!!

The only problem...I don't think I'll be able to order their cakes for delivery in Canada!! And with their selection, I truly am awaiting the day I can return to London so I can sample some of their beautiful products :)

Alex made our Christmas cake this year, it looked beautiful and tasted amazing, it was her Vanilla and Caramel Wreath cake, very creamy and fluffy, it absolutely melted in the mouth, perfect for the end of the dinner. No doubt she is a real pro who has worked with one the best 5 star pastry team in London, totally worth it!

We had a Strawberries Shortcake, Raspberries Shortcake and also the Raspberries layer cake. First bite on the Strawberries Shortcake was full of orange blossoms, an awakening moment for my taste buds. It was refreshing and light (an excuse for extra helpings!). The Raspberries layer cake, we didnt have a photo of the whole cake as the children were eager to cut it and gobbled it down. IT WAS DELICIOUS! Every layer is just bursting with deliciousness. The little crunch of meringues at the top were just simply lovely! We are looking forward to trying the other cakes and tarts. If you havent yet placed an order, please may I tempt you with this fantastic homemade cakes! Whatever the occasions may be, let the cakes do the talking! Thank you Alex!

"Oh cake, I loooove cake!". You'll become a Marjorie with Alex cakes - you can't resist and you won't resist. Her cakes are so good. And also beautiful. I have tried few of them and I've never  been disappointed.  The last ones were  the macaron cakes (chocolate/coffee and then rasberry/vanilla).....soooooo good ! And they are gluten free!!!

Alex was amazing and got me out of jam by doing a last minute cake after being let down. I described what I wanted and she made it 10 times better than I could have imagined. It looked beautiful and was absolutely delicious, all my guests raved about it and my boyfriend was very happy, he said it was the best cake he’s ever had!!

We ordered the Caramel, chocolate pear cake and it was delicious as it was beautiful. I picked up the cake and we could barely wait to eat it after lunch. It is decadent and light at the same time, with a great combination of flavours. Our favourite part was the vanilla icing and buttery caramel. We would definitely order again even though it is a lot of cake for two people. Thanks Alex!

We ordered the coffee and chocolate layer cake for a little announcement. We weren't able to travel to London to share the news with my family in person, so we organised a surprise (and every surprise needs a cake!)

Alex was super-friendly and helpful, and even sent us a photo of the cake before my aunt picked it up. My family, who actually got to enjoy it, said it was delicious!

Absolutely amazing cake! Was specifically looking for a lemon cake (which seemed near impossible to get in the UK), yet Alex did not disappoint. A super tasty, sweet yet lemony, fresh not dry, and simply gorgeous cake. 10/10 would recommend!
