I have a 1hr weekly session with my wife and although we have different levels of stamina and strength the circuit setup Ian arranged for us is able to easily cater for this so we both end the session feeling we have had a full, energetic workout.
Ian takes careful notes each week of the weights and times we work with so we know what to use next time we do that exercise and can track progress.
The Zoom sessions we started after Lockdown worked surprisingly well - Ian was able to improvise well with what we had available at home to give us a full workout, so if you are unsure about going out still I strongly recommend giving this a try. It kept us sane, and healthy, during Lockdown!
His home gym studio setup is very comfortable - compact, but fine for 1-2 people to workout, including a little kitchenette and shower. Obviously not as wide a range of equipment as a commercial gym but there is everything you need for a full, all-body workout, his equipment and machines are of commercial-quality, is comfortable, light and airy, and you can park outside.
His outdoor setup is brilliant. He is one of only 4 people with permission to use the sports field of one of the Cambridge colleges. He has a 250m running track marked out and a full range of fitness equipment for a really good circuits workout. It is always laid out ready by the time we arrive, he provides hand santiser (and insists you use it before touching anything) and wipes down all his equipment after every client.
His charges are very reasonable and most importantly, Ian is always friendly and professional. He is able to push us every week in a friendly, encouraging manner and I achieve far more in 1hour with him than I would in 2-3hrs trying to workout on my own.
Ian knew I was new to personal training and hadn't done any proper exercise for more than 10 years, he started off something easy for me to manage but hard enough for me sweat! He also increased the difficulties slightly each week according to my progress, so I could build up my core muscle and strength which was what I needed from a person trainer!
I would highly recommend Ian to anyone who is after a persona trainer! In fact, friends of mine have now became Ian's clients too!!
