The Grange Retreat Boarding Kennels & Cattery

I can’t recommend The Grange Retreat and the staff enough. I looked at so many kennels before finding The Grange Retreat. So many were rated 5 star but believe me, they weren’t even 1 star!!! I went to look round the Grange Retreat without making an appointment and was met by the lovely Tracey, she couldn’t be any more welcoming and professional than she was. It was clear right from the start that she and her team are so passionate about the animals that come into their care. The kennels were spotless and the staff were smart and were playing with the dogs in their care. Louie has now stayed 3 times and I have no qualms about him staying again. He loves it there!! Thank you Tracy to you and your amazing team for the wonderful care you give to Louie and answering my calls making sure he’s ok like some new Mum with her baby !! Thank you xx

Fantastic place, I cannot recommend The Grange Retreat highly enough! We used the cattery where my cat was well looked after, the retreat itself is located in lovely quiet countryside. Whilst there the staff were so friendly and approachable, you could tell that they genuinely cared about all the animals. It was a lovely touch using social media to upload daily videos and pictures of your pet so you could virtually check in on them whilst you were away, it really put my mind at ease when on holiday 🙂 Will definitely come back again 👍🏻

My kitten stayed here whilst we were on holiday. They were amazing with her and I loved the videos. Our flight was cancelled so I couldn't get her at the allocated time and they were very accomodating. I would definitely use them again and trust them 100%

We looked at quite a few kennels before deciding on the Grange. This was Dobbys first stay and by the daily photos looks like he had a great time. The Grange is well run and organised, clean, warm kennels and friendly staff. Will definitely use again.

I Highly recommend The Grange Retreat not only for day stays but also for grooming.

Our 2 year old sprocker Louie had massive confidence issues. And was frightened of people.
We went to have a chat with the retreat to see if it would work with him staying a few days a week to build his confidence. I felt so at ease after a tour.
A short while after starting He is now a different dog. His confidence is incredible.
He went from being a dog who would hide behind me so fearful. And now he leaps out the car. And cannot wait to go in.

Tracey is so welcoming as are all the staff and Louie adores them all!

We have been building Louie’s confidence with the grooming too, as he is very nervous, they have been very patient with him over the last few months.
And he looks amazing!

I feel my dog is very well looked after, and has an incredible amount of fun at his day stays. (He’s always knackered when he gets home). Plus he gets to mix with other dogs throughout the day. Which he loves!

The booking process and payments are also super efficient. And I can book slots in advance for when I’m working so I know he isn’t left at home, and he is having the time of his life!k

So…….some months ago, I posted a review for the Grange Retreat Dog Kennels – I was so impressed with their staff and the service they provided and my dog, Luna, returned home better for her stay there.

Infact, I was so impressed with Grange and after speaking to Tracy and Victoria, I now help out there! (! Luna comes with me!). I can confirm the staff there are truly amazing. They quickly bond with the dogs and give reassurance and one to one care when needed. The kennels are well maintained, clean and with heated flooring! Each kennel has an outside play area. During the day, dogs get further exercise in the paddocks, be it with new friends or if needed one dog per paddock. The dogs are well exercised. Infact my first day there, I walked numerous hounds and managed to walk 22,000 steps in 3.5 hrs!

So if you want safe and secure housing and a holiday break for your dog, the Grange Retreat is the place to go!

If you visit the Grange and see an old bloke with a black GSD (with orange toy – that’s Luna, not me!) that will be me – always willing to stop and chat if you have questions.

So update from 2 weeks ago. Luna has had her first holiday at the Grange… she loved it… She seemed very relaxed with the team and photos and videos of her stay, indicate she had a great time …Big thanks to Tracy and her team..job well done .. if you are looking for first class kennels !! We have two female greyhounds that are very attached to their home comforts. This means that we have struggled to find a kennel that they are happy in. We tried a few without success but then hit gold with the Grange Retreat. Gypsy and Bonnie are wonderfully looked after, they do not have any anxiety when we drop them off and they spend more time saying goodbye to the kennel staff than saying hello to us! We have used them a number of times now including when we did a month long trip to Australia and we cannot recommend Victoria and her team highly enough!

We can never thank The Grange Retreat Team enough. Not only do they look after our dog when we go on holiday, but they made it possible for him to be there on wedding day. We are forever grateful! I walked him to the church with my groomsmen and then Vicky from the Grange Retreat, met us at the Church to take him off after we had had our ceremony and pictures. Anyone who has a dog, knows how much a part of your family they are, so you want them at a big occasion. The Grange Retreat make this possible. He was whisked off for an action packed few days, walks, agility and we picked him up washed, tired and happy! Thank you for always taking alway the 'What about Tucker stress' whenever we have any plans!
