Great place if your dog is barking mad like the owners!
I have put off writing this review for a long time as I do not like writing negative reviews but I feel this is important feedback.
My partner was recently employed at Christie’s Retreat for two months. The list of unreasonable expectations kept increasing going from 45 hours a week to working over 60, having to be on call 24/7 on top of working 6 days a week. He was also never given a job description or contract, not allowed to leave the site even to just buy groceries otherwise he faced the screaming rage of the owner, not very professional! The place was a prison. We couldn’t sleep due to being woken up by dogs in the night. Oh and on his last day they made him get on his hands and knees to weed the grounds knowing that he was recovering from knee surgery! Whenever he approached the owner to discuss an issue he was yelled at to get out and verbally abusive.
Sadly it is a reflection of some parts of society where the ones with power and money think they can exploit people. Shocking. Oh and he had to fight to get paid his final wages because we’d failed to strip the bed linen, even though we’d cleaned the flat top to toe! Apparently before us they had a few bad experiences…
I would have given zero stars if google allowed. p.s. the reviewer called James Baker is actually one of the owners.

You know that you have found the right place when your dog actually wants to go back there. 5* boarding and no anxiety.

Such a brilliant experience for us and our elderly diabetic dog. He couldn’t have been in a better place whilst we were away. I knew he was in very caring capable hands and they dealt with a medical issue without alarming us and taking the best care of him.
This is the only place I’d ever leave him as it really is a wonderful retreat for your dog.
