The Trop Shop

Terrible! We bought a new fish and within two weeks all our other fish got a virus. There was also a dead fish in the tank in the shop, absolutely would not come again.

I find this store to be a little bit expensive on a lot of its stock, very friendly staff always willing to help, nice stock of fish, but do find some things in the store to be a bit high on some prices, but as its the only store in Grays some things are a most need rather than a most have.

Always friendly and helpful, bought many pets there from a Royal python, bearded dragon and now a tortoise.

Visited to get some frozen food for my snakes. Look very good quality. Also bought some vivarium cleaner, the young lady who assisted me was very helpful and also pointed out an alternative that was suitable for the job.
Nice selection of animals.
Small shop but something for everyone.

Can't say much about shop as we been asked to leave just because we said that we want to look around as we're first time there ( so we assume that if you nit buying at the time - you are not welcome...) it was a bit of shock l. We been told that there is still lockdown (not sure where they getting info about restrictions) and we only allowed to grab what we need but not look around... how can I grab something I want if I'm first time here and have no clue what you have.. really disappointed as I travel all the way from London to visit this shop.... I was genuinely looking to buy something as I seting up my new 250l fish tank.... fortunately other shop called Creation Aquatics in Wickford (have to do some traveling) was more than happy to welcome us and I found some bits I needed and spend some money (I attached photos what I bought at CreationAquatics). Will definitely visit them again to buy some fish. Unfortunately The Trop Shop will never be visited by me and I'll definitely not recommend it to my fellow fish keepers.... 😔

P.s. after owners response to this review I thought I needed to clarify that review applies only to the shop in Grays. Couple weeks ago I bought my aquarium in The Trop Shop in Brentwood in it was brilliant experience with superb customer service 👌

Georga and Demi was extremely rude in the pet store, they were not helpful at all, they were very abrupt and didn't let the customer speak, I felt uncomfortable. Really bad customer service.

I still stand by my words! Disgusting attitude from both kids working in the pet store, don't bother buying anything from here guys, you will just feel unhelped.
No professionalism they don't want to sell anything to customers. 0 stars. Merry Christmas

The gentleman who servede is was very helpful, printed out information for me about bearded dragon 🐲 and answered all my questions about jumping spider 🕷️.

I won't go anywhere else but here for my aquatic needs. My wife decided she wanted a fish tank set up in our lounge and I wasn't going to argue but we have a big lounge so we needed a big tank and the advice I got was just the best. The staff are really friendly and won't try to sell you loads of stuff you don't need. During these trying covid times they can't do the water changes for you but with all of their great advice I felt confident enough to do it myself and it's all gone very well, well enough that my levels in the tank are spot on and at the weekend we were able to get more fish (which pleased the kids) so now we have a great looking set up.
