Elm Park Pets & Dog Grooming

I have used the store many times for treats and toys for our family dogs but i've attemted twice in the past week to go in for Christmas bits but they haven't been open. After asking other shops what the opening times are, we were told they just open when they like. I don't have time for that so i'll take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately I have to give this a one star otherwise it would be none. The owner is very rude, always walking around talking on the phone using his earphones. I noticed that the dogs in the cage had no water on a very hot day. We also bought a kitten from here prior to knowing about this shop. Our poor little kitten was sold to us unwell. Owner said it's our fault after 1 day. In the end, we took her to the vets. She was full of bugs in her belly. I mean the list goes on and on.....

Staff are not very knowlegeable but thats not the worst. My pets are old and specifically told the manager to tell the groomer to watch out for the moles on their bodies (He didnt understand what moles were) After collecting my dogs they seemed very distressed and literally every mole on their bodies had been caught with the trimmer and had bled. One positive is that they are selling puppies who have all their papers in check with vaccinations apparently ...

Since changing to new manager/ owner this business has really gone down hill. The opening hours are very inconsistent and the new manager isn't very nice to be around. Made me very uncomfortable the last time I visited and now I won't visit without my husband in fear of the owners inappropriate comments. I won't be shopping there if I can help it! Such a shame as my family have shopped at elm park pets for years and the previous owner was so knowledgeable and gave the best service. Not anymore!

My sister bought some hamster food, saw bugs in it so asked him for a new pack. Took the pack home and noticed more flies about. I checked the bag of food and there was fly larvae everywhere. Had to chuck it all out!

animals look sad and malnourished. Overall bad experience inside the shop - signs everywhere stating no images to be taken probably because of the poor conditions the animals inside are subject to inside, it’s cruel and would most likely be shut down if reported to the authorities. Immensely overpriced also.Say don’t take anything from this pet because just looking take more money from you and don’t care about animals just take ur money from you and should be every one call police from this man or should close down this shop no one take nothing from this pet shop .

Backdoor breeders, I've reported to rspca and other charities several times. The condition they keep their kittens in is absolutely disgusting. Poor babies and the tanks their fish were in was even worse. So sad

Just wanted to say im disgusted with ELM PARK PET SHOP i bought a kitten from there last monday and from the of set has had diarrhoea... i rang a vet and gave it a few days to see if it was because of a change of setting... on the Sunday she was throwing up rang the vet and bought a Deworming paste as advised by the vet to see if that was the problem as the owner said she hadn't been dewormed yet ... I also rang the owner of the shop and said he must have known as shes been like it from the day I got her he told me she will be fine "she wasnt like it so must be you " and had said he had NO knowledge of the cat being unwell! Today 2 days after using the paste she is still the same and hasn't got any better so now have to take her to the vets as she obviously has something abit more serious wrong with her ! Now i do t care about the money as when buying any animal you expect to pay for vet bills and everything else that comes with buying a pet but I didn't expect to be taking her the vet so soon except for her 1st long of vaccinations ... When I rang him again today i told him he can foot the bill (out of princeable for selling me a cat he obviously knew was ill ) his response was " call the RSPCA because your not getting a single penny out of me... you must have done this or fed it somthing wrong " (even tho I brought the food he suggested from his shop ! ) Later today i then go to be told by someone my 8 WEEK OLD KITTEN WAS PREVIOUSLY SOLD IN THE SAME SHOP BEFORE I HAD BOUGHT HER BUT WAS TAKEN BACK BECAUSE SHE HAD DIAREAH !! (But yet he swore blind he didnt know and I was the reason this was happening and tryed to tell me i was incapable of having a cat....that wasn't even the half of it) NOW CORRECT ME OF IM WRONG BUT THAT POOR KITTEN WAS SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE 3 WEEKS BEFORE I HAD BOUGHT HER WHICH MEANS THAT POOR KITTEN WAS SOLD AT 6 WEEKS OLD THATS WITHOUT HOW LONG IT'S BEEN WAS AWAY FROM ITS MUM AND WAS BEING FED WHISKERS KITTEN FOOD RATHER THAN THE MILK THAT SHE WAS PROBABLY NEEDED AND CRAVED I NOW DONT EVEN KNOW IF SHE IS 8 WEEKS OLD OR INFACT YOUNGER !!

I WILL BE REPORTING TO THE RSPCA , TRADING STANDARDS AND THE COUNCIL AND I KNOW FOR A FINE FACT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS REPORTED HIM DUE TO THE WELL BEING OF THOSE POOR ANIMALS !! HE LEAVES THEM FROM SATURDAY THROUGH TO MONDAY !! THERE IS CURRENTLY 4 OR 5 DOGS ALL IN ONE SMALL CAGE ...THIS MAN DOES NOT DESERVE TO OWN A PET LET ALONE OWN A PET SHOP !
SO disgusted IN THIS MAN ANF HOPE THAT THE KITTEN WILL BE OK... PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE AND TAKE A LOOK YOURSELF AND REPORT HIM TO !
SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I HAD BOUGHT A CAT FROM THERE YEARS AGO AND ALL HER WISKERS WERE CUT AND SHE WAS VERY TIMID! MAKES ME WOUNDER NOW 🤨
Dread to think of the people his selling dogs to as all he cares about is the money i mean he thought I was 16 when I bought my Kitten untill after he realised I wasn't and actually have 2 kids ! does he even care if his selling to breaders or for fights .... probably not 😡🤬
